Matcha Latte

Our guide to making the best-tasting cup of matcha latte at home.

ingredients

You will need:
bamboo whisk and spoon
matcha sieve
matcha bowl
milk of choice (we recommend dairy)
raw sugar
ice
glass
most importantly, Midori Organic Kagoshima Ceremonial Matcha.

one: prepping

heat your water to 80C
soak your bamboo whisk chasen in hot water for a minute
sift 4.5g of ceremonial matcha into a matcha bowl chawan
add 12g of raw sugar into a matcha bowl chawan

two: making

pour into the matcha bowl chawan 60ml of water

for 30 seconds, whisk in a W motion without touching the bottom of the matcha bowl chawan
for 20 seconds, stay in the centre of the bowl, whish in an up and down motion
for 10 seconds, whisk on the top layer of the matcha foam to eliminate bubbles

three: finishing

golden proportion
100ml of ice
120ml of milk of choice
whisked matcha
enjoy a nutty, creamy and sweet cup of matcha.
